ORCA Global Trading have great pleasure in announcing that the POWERSTRAP has been short listed for an award at the 4th Annual Conde´Nast Traveller Innovation & Design Awards, in association with Marriott Hotels & Resorts.
This is an amazing achievement for both ORCA and POWERSTRAP to be recognised at such an early stage of the products life for such a coveted award. ORCA directors attended the prestigious event on Monday 10th May 2010 to see how the POWERSTRAP would fair against the fierce competition in its category such as I-Pad designed by Apple, Folding Plug designed by RCA graduate Min-Kyu Choi, Giorgio Armani Samsung Smartphone, Slingbox designed in house, Medscape phone app, Nexus One designed by HTC and many more.
This years judging panel comprised of Sir Nicholas Serota Director of TATE, internationally acclaimed Heston Blumenthal, co-founder of Lastminute.com Brent Hoberman, renowned food lover and TV presenter Lloyd Grossman, Chris Goodall Principal Curator of Technology at London’s Science Museum and many others.
The winner of the Communications Technology Category as expected was none other than the infamous I-Pad by Apple that was released earlier this year. Apple also walked away with the OVERALL WINNERS Award on the night which showed their prowess in being at the forefront of the Design and Innovation Sector. This was a very proud and memorable day for both ORCA and POWERSTRAP to be acknowledged amongst these great companies and enforced our company ethos “The first for Innovative Technology”

ORCA Global Trading Limited made its first appearance at the Gadget Show Live this year at the NEC in Birmingham on Stand G24a.
The public response and trade feedback on the ORCA products was phenomenal, one of the main products that was drawing in the crowd was the fantastic Powerstrap that was featured a week earlier and reviewed by Jason Bradbury and Suzi Perry on the Gadget Show 9pm, Channel 5 on 29th March 2010.
Jason loved the Powerstrap and commented on its amazing battery life and how easy and simple it was to change connectors and charge different portable devices.
iPhone users were simply astonished to find such a compact and well thought out dedicated charger for their mobile phone.
